New joint Gulfstream / Jet Aviation facility opens at Palm Beach

Gulfstream has announced the official opening of a new company-owned service center at Palm Beach International Airport. The facility, shared with Jet Aviation, will have a hangar for each company and shared office space.

The all-new joint facility is nearly 161,000 square feet/14,960 square meters, with over 104,000 sq ft/9,600 sq m dedicated to Gulfstream. The air-conditioned facility can accommodate up to seven Gulfstream G650ER or G650 aircraft.

Alongside, Jet Aviation boasts a brand-new 11,270 sq. ft. FBO terminal, a 42,000 sq. ft. hangar and a near-65,000 sq. ft. ramp.

Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and minimizing its environmental footprint, the facility features low flow water fixtures, a white roof and heat-reducing tarmac as well as local drought resistant plants. The complex further features 200,000 sq.ft. of shared tarmac space.

Jet Aviation President, David Paddock, commented, “This investment is the 5th new hangar we’ve opened in recent years and underscores our commitment to exceeding customer expectations by further strengthening our global facility network. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our parent company, General Dynamics, for their ongoing support of our business, particularly during these uncertain times.”

Derek Zimmerman, president, Gulfstream Customer Support, said: “Gulfstream has had a presence in Palm Beach for almost 20 years with the capability to accommodate all Gulfstream models. We are excited to open a state-of-the-art facility that will offer world-class service to a greater number of Gulfstream aircraft simultaneously. The Palm Beach service center is well-positioned to support customers in domestic and international markets, including South America.”

Palm Beach is one of many new service centers in the Gulfstream Customer Support network. In 2019, Gulfstream opened a facility in Van Nuys, California, and expanded in Appleton, Wisconsin, and Savannah. Gulfstream recently began operations at a newly built service center in Farnborough, England.

Jet Aviation is currently constructing a new FBO and hangar terminal in Scottsdale, Arizona, slated for completion in early 2021, while working to replace its storm-damaged hangar in Houston, Texas.
