Crane Aerospace & Electronics hosted a facility tour and reception with the UAE Ambassador to the U.S., Yousef Al Otaiba, and the U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, Michael Corbin, on
June 10th at the company's Burbank, CA site.
The ambassadors were interested in learning more about Crane products and business opportunities created by the growing UAE air transport industry, as well as strengthening
relationships with key suppliers such as Crane.
The United Arab Emirates is the United States’ largest trading partner in the Middle East. Driving this growth is the emergence of the UAE’s international airlines as significant purchasers
of U.S.-manufactured commercial aircraft and aerospace components. These purchases support more than a hundred thousand jobs and have billions of dollars of annual economic impact
in the U.S.
Gregg Herman, Aerospace Group Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Crane, spoke of the importance of the UAE to Crane:
“The UAE is very important to Crane’s business. Thanks to aircraft orders from the UAE, the Burbank site has been able to significantly grow its commercial aviation business in the past three years." |

"On the Boeing 777, Emirates is
currently the world’s largest operator. To Crane, this is important because of our large product content on the 777, providing employment opportunities
to many people.”
Crane provides
customer service and sales support to all the major airlines in the UAE including Emirates, Etihad and
flydubai.
Ambassador Al Otaiba said, “Etihad, Emirates and flydubai collectively announced significant purchases that, when combined, equal $120 billion worth of new aircraft orders last
November during the Dubai Air Show. I suspect that most of the brake control systems on those aircraft have been or will be manufactured by Crane Aerospace & Electronics right here in
Burbank. As a very frequent flyer between the UAE and the U.S., I am personally very pleased to learn about Crane’s long track record of innovation and product reliability.”
