Lausanne, SwitzerlandSimply Jet announces acquisition of FlyTyrol |
Simply Jet has announced the acquisition of 100% of FlyTyrol (ABC Bedarfsflug GmbH), a business aviation operator based in Innsbruck, Austria.
Completed in early September, the transaction makes Simply Jet one of the few business aviation brokers in Europe to hold, within its group, an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) issued by the Austrian authority Austro Control.
Founded in 2001, FlyTyrol employs 14 people. Its fleet consists of four aircraft based in Innsbruck and Salzburg, Austria. A Cessna Citation M2 and a Cessna Citation CJ3+ are available for charter, while a Cessna Citation CJ2+ and a Cessna Citation XLS are privately managed and used exclusively by their owners. FlyTyrol will retain its name and its entire staff.
FlyTyrol will be able to draw on Simply Jet’s extensive charter network, as well as its support and expertise in marketing, finance, and IT.
For its part, Simply Jet is incorporating FlyTyrol’s expertise in aircraft management. This will enable the Swiss company to expand its range of services and offer aircraft management services to its clients, as well as flights operated under its own AOC.
FlyTyrol founder, Helmut Eder, said: “I am proud to see the legacy I have built over more than two decades continue to grow under the Simply Jet banner. Our values remain the same: delivering excellency in aircraft management to our owners and seamless flight experiences to our charter clients.”
Philipp Jarnoth will succeed Helmut Eder as Managing Director of FlyTyrol.
With this acquisition, Simply Jet aims to become a key player in aircraft management in the coming years, with a goal to increase the number of aircraft under management to 10 by 2030, up from 4 today.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
