GetJet Group to establish new MRO facility at Vilnius International

GetJet Group’s subsidiary Airhub Aviation has secured a site at Vilnius International Airport (VNO) through a land lease auction organized by Lithuanian Airports, marking a major step in the group’s expansion of its aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities.

The company has been granted the right to lease an 11,200 sq. m. plot for 40 years and plans to invest approximately €25m in the construction of a state-of-the-art MRO hangar. Once operational, the facility is expected to create more than 100 new jobs.

"Expanding our MRO capabilities is one of our key strategic priorities, strengthening our technical independence, increasing operational flexibility, and enabling us to provide a broader range of services to our global aviation partners.”

New hangar supports GetJet Group’s MRO strategy

The newly secured site is located next to another 4,700 sq. m. plot already secured by GetJet Group through a long-term lease agreement. Between 2025 and 2029, the group is investing approximately €10m in the construction of an additional hangar at this location.

“Developing our own MRO infrastructure is a major step towards strengthening our ability to support our fleet independently while increasing the control, flexibility, and efficiency required in the ACMI and aviation asset management businesses," said Inga Duglas, CEO of GetJet Airlines.

"In today’s aviation environment, access to reliable MRO capacity and the ability to respond quickly are critical competitive advantages. We can currently mobilize within 1.5 hours of request confirmation and conduct more than 500 ad-hoc operations each year, positioning GetJet Airlines as the ‘Task Force of Aviation.’ This investment further strengthens our technical independence and enhances the operational reliability we deliver to our clients.”

An important part of GetJet Group’s MRO strategy is already being delivered by its subsidiary Airhub Aviation, which operates an MRO hangar at Šiauliai International Airport and develops aviation asset management activities.

“Our hangar in Šiauliai is becoming one of the most notable MRO success stories in Northern and Eastern Europe. Although we have been operating for only two years, the facility is already running at full capacity and serving world-class aviation companies. This further demonstrates Šiauliai’s potential to become one of the region’s leading aircraft maintenance hubs,” said Darius Viltrakis.

GetJet Group expansion to create 200 new aviation jobs

As part of its growth strategy, GetJet Group plans to create approximately 200 new aviation jobs across its hangar operations at Vilnius and Šiauliai airports in the coming years. The new positions will include aircraft maintenance engineers, avionics specialists, technicians, engine maintenance professionals, as well as experts in planning, quality control and logistics supporting efficient hangar operations.

To support the growth of the aviation workforce, GetJet Group aims to attract both experienced aviation professionals and specialists from other technical fields. As part of this effort, GetJet Airlines and Airhub Aviation have partnered with Vaidotas Žala, 2026 Dakar Rally winner and three-time Lithuanian rally champion, who became an ambassador for both companies. Through the partnership, the companies are highlighting the connection between aviation and motorsport and aim to showcase the often unseen side of aviation while increasing interest in technical aviation careers.

Strengthening Lithuania’s aviation ecosystem

Lithuanian Airports highlights that such investments contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Lithuania’s aviation sector:

Invest Lithuania, the country’s investment promotion agency, highlights MRO as one of the most promising high-value-added areas of growth in Lithuania.

Investment approved under Lithuania’s national security requirements

Before signing the land lease agreement, the project underwent a national security review by Lithuania’s Commission for Coordination of Protection of Objects of Importance to Ensuring National Security. On March 13, 2025, the commission confirmed that GetJet Group meets Lithuania’s national security requirements and may proceed with the land lease process.
