Jet Aviation adds major new FBO facility at Miami-Opa Locka

Jet Aviation has opened its new FBO at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, strengthening its presence in one of the US’s most important business aviation markets.

The new 27-acre facility expands Jet Aviation’s South Florida offering with a purpose-built FBO terminal, additional hangar capacity and a large aircraft parking apron designed to accommodate a wide range of business jets, including larger-cabin aircraft.

The 8,500 sq ft terminal is LEED-certified and forms the centrepiece of the development, which also includes 40,000 sq ft of new hangar space. The hangars feature 30-foot doors, while the 540,000 sq ft ramp provides substantial capacity for transient and based aircraft.

The FBO has two new taxiway connections and private drive-on access to the ramp, helping to streamline aircraft movements and ground operations. Fuel services include Jet-A and 100LL, with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) also available through Jet Aviation’s Book & Claim programme.

For passengers and crews, the facility includes dedicated offices and a range of customer amenities. On-site US Customs and Border Protection facilities are another key feature, providing international operators with direct access to customs services.

The new facility has also been designed with sustainability in mind. Features include photovoltaic panels, LED lighting and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, reflecting the growing emphasis on reducing the environmental impact of business aviation facilities.

Jet Aviation began initial operations at Miami-Opa Locka in November 2025 while construction of the permanent FBO continued. The completed facility now provides the company with a significant new base at an airport that has become an increasingly important gateway for business aviation serving the Miami area.

The opening represents another step in Jet Aviation’s expansion of its US FBO network and adds to its extensive global infrastructure supporting business aircraft operators.

For operators flying into South Florida, Miami-Opa Locka offers an attractive alternative to the region’s busier commercial airports, with the new Jet Aviation facility combining extensive ramp and hangar capacity with customs capability and a modern, purpose-built passenger terminal.
