Cleveland, OhioFlexjet signs exclusive Gulfstream G500/G700 Fractional deal |
Flexjet has strengthened its position in the large-cabin private jet market with the addition of the Gulfstream G500 to its fleet and an exclusive agreement with Gulfstream that makes it the only fractional ownership provider to receive deliveries of new Gulfstream G500 and G700 aircraft.
The move reinforces Flexjet’s strategy of operating one of the world’s most modern fleets, while meeting growing demand for long-range aircraft capable of international travel under shared ownership programmes.
Following Flexjet’s acquisition, one of the company’s first strategic decisions was to diversify beyond an all-Bombardier fleet. Chairman Kenn Ricci, himself a Gulfstream pilot, placed a major order for Gulfstream aircraft in 2014, marking a significant shift in the company’s fleet strategy. The investment introduced aircraft with greater international range and elevated the brand’s appeal among private aviation customers.

Today, Flexjet operates what it says is the largest owned, operated and maintained Gulfstream fleet in the world. The fleet now includes four Gulfstream models: the G700, G650, G500 and G450. Introduced to the fleet last year, the ultra-long-range G700 expanded Flexjet’s offering, while the G500 will gradually replace the G450 as the company’s primary large-cabin aircraft.
An evolution of the G450, the Gulfstream G500 offers a range of 5,200 nautical miles and cruises at speeds of up to Mach 0.90, enabling nonstop routes between city pairs such as New York and London. It is also around 33% more fuel-efficient than its predecessor, allowing it to fly nearly 1,000 nautical miles farther using the same amount of fuel.

The aircraft’s cabin has been designed with passenger comfort in mind, featuring 14 panoramic windows that maximise natural light, a spacious cabin cross-section for greater head and shoulder room, and a low cabin altitude of 3,255 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet. Combined with a 100% fresh-air system that refreshes the cabin every two to three minutes, these features are designed to reduce fatigue and enhance passenger wellbeing on longer flights.
The G500 will operate as part of Red Label by Flexjet, the company’s premium fractional ownership programme. Red Label offers dedicated flight crews assigned to individual aircraft, bespoke LXi Cabin Collection interiors and highly personalised service. Cabin Servers receive advanced training at Flexjet’s Red Label Academy outside London, while Owners also benefit from curated travel experiences through FXLUXE Travel Guides and Chairman’s Club destination programmes.
The arrival of the G500 further strengthens Flexjet’s long-range and ultra-long-range capabilities, giving Owners greater flexibility to travel to destinations around the world. Supported by the company’s in-house maintenance network, private terminals and dedicated helicopter operations across the US and Europe, the latest fleet expansion underscores Flexjet’s continued investment in premium private aviation.
