WINGX Global Market Tracker:

SpaceX IPO and World Cup kick off coincide with bizjet activity surge

In Week 24 (8th-14th June) global business jet activity rose 8% compared to the previous week (Week 23), rising 2% compared to Week 24 last year.

In the last four weeks, bizjet activity has trended only 1% ahead of comparable last year. Year to date (1st January-14th June), bizjet activity is 4% ahead of last year in terms of both departures and flight hours. The latest upwards blip may be related to the SpaceX IPO on June 12th, which reportedly created 400 new centimillionaires. Week 24 also marks the first week of the FIFA World Cup tournament.

North America

The USA recorded 52,920 bizjet flights in Week 24, up 9% week-on-week and 4% ahead of W24 2025, continuing to drive the broader North America region (54,718 flights, +3% vs. W24 2025).

Within the US, Texas is the standout market, surging 18% above W24 2025 levels and delivering a strong 9% year-over-year gain on a rolling 4-week basis (21,075 flights), the surge likely coming from FIFA World Cup related traffic for games hosted in Dallas and Houston last week.

California also performed well, up 12% week-on-week and 5% vs. W24 2025, with a 4-week total of 18,976 flights (+2% YOY). Florida, while posting a more modest 2% weekly gain and 3% vs. W24 2025, leads all three states in rolling 4-week volume at 24,465 flights and maintains a healthy +5% YOY trajectory. Across all three key states, 52-week highs were reached in either late 2025 or early 2026, reflecting the overall strength of the US market heading into the summer period.

Europe

Europe recorded 14,863 flights in Week 24, a solid 7% increase week-on-week and 3% ahead of the same week in 2025. However, the region's year-over-year performance over the last four weeks (54,831 flights) is trending down by 1%. Within Europe, Germany stands out as the strongest performer, posting a one-off 27% week-on-week surge and 21% above W24 2025
levels, though its 4-week YOY trend remains very negative at -8%. France also showed healthy growth at +10% vs. W24 2025, while flight activity in and out of Switzerland and Italy were broadly flat year-on-year (+2% and -1% respectively).

Year to date (1st January-14th June), the European business jet fleet’s activity is, as usual, tilted towards smaller jets, with the Light Jet segment representing more than 25% of sectors flown, although this is also the weakest category, with LJ, VLJ and ELJ fleet segments flying less than last year. The growth is very evidently coming from larger aircraft, with Super Midsize aircraft, typically fractional operations, well ahead of last year, and Ultra Long Range jets flying 25% of total hours and trending up almost 7% YOY.

FIFA World Cup Opening Week

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup we hosted a webinar with our colleagues at JETNET and discussed the bizjet impact of hosting such a large-scale event, you can watch the replay here. The tournament kicked off last week with group stage matches being played across all three host countries (USA, Mexico & Canada). On the 11th June, Mexico beat South Africa 2-0 in Mexico City, 97 bizjet arrivals were recorded arriving into the city’s airports the day before kickoff, chart 4 (below) highlighting a surge of 3-4X normal bizjet traffic for associated venue airports.

The USA kicked off their tournament with a convincing 4-1 victory over Paraguay, the Group D game being hosted in Los Angeles. Despite Los Angeles already being a major bizjet hotspot, a notable upward trend is visible in chart 5, with arrivals peaking the day before the match took place.

Kieran John, WINGX Sales Manager, comments: "Business aviation activity globally continues to defy negative macro sentiment, with the Middle East conflict hollowing out regional flight activity but Europe, especially the Med region, seemingly seeing that demand migration.

"The US continues to see strong demand, with much higher growth towards the end of June, coinciding with World Cup and SpaceX IPO excitement.”
