Hamburg, Germany & Wichita, KansasPlatoon Aviation set to lead Europe in Citation Longitude operations |
Textron Aviation and Hamburg-based charter operator Platoon Aviation have announced a multi-aircraft fleet purchase agreement that will position Platoon as the largest Cessna Citation Longitude fleet owner in Europe, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
The deal marks a significant expansion for Platoon, which specialises in on-demand private jet travel for business and leisure travellers requiring long-range capability and premium cabin comfort.
By building out its Longitude fleet, the company is making a clear statement about where it sees European business aviation heading - and its own place within it.
"Platoon Aviation is redefining what business aviation can look like in the next decade," said CEO Deniz Weißenborn. "The Citation Longitude fleet expansion reflects our commitment to building a future-proof, next-generation aviation platform that combines operational efficiency, sustainability and uncompromising comfort."

The Citation Longitude is well matched to that ambition. As the flagship of Cessna's Citation family, it offers the range to connect major European business corridors nonstop - Hamburg to Madrid, London to Athens - without the operational compromises that come with smaller super-midsize aircraft. Its cabin is the quietest in its class, with a flat-floor stand-up interior of 1.83 metres, seating for up to 12 passengers and class-leading legroom. For charter operators, that combination of range, comfort and efficiency is a genuine commercial differentiator.
Lannie O'Bannion, Textron Aviation's senior vice president of Sales & Marketing, pointed to the Longitude's position in the market as central to the agreement's logic. "This agreement with Platoon Aviation underscores the Longitude's leadership in the super-midsize segment and the trust customers place in Cessna and our team," he said.
Underpinning the fleet expansion is Textron Aviation's European support infrastructure - five company-owned service centres, a network of Authorised Service Facilities, mobile support teams and a dedicated European Parts Distribution Centre, all backed by 24/7 Aircraft-on-Ground assistance. For a charter operator where fleet availability directly determines revenue, that kind of regional coverage is as important as the aircraft itself.
The first deliveries are still two years away, but the agreement signals a company with a clear direction. In a European market that rewards reliability and scale, Platoon is investing in both.
