Brussels, BelgiumEBAA cancels EBACE26, citing insufficient momentum and |
The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) has announced the cancellation of EBACE26, reaffirming its commitment to supporting and strengthening Europe’s business aviation community.
The decision underscores the Association’s responsibility to act transparently and strategically in response to changing industry conditions.
EBAA exists to represent, support, and advocate for business aviation across Europe. Its mission is to promote responsible and sustainable growth, improve connectivity, and create opportunities for the sector. Central to this effort has been EBACE, the industry’s flagship annual event, long regarded as a key platform for networking, innovation, and commercial engagement.
However, despite its historical significance, EBACE26 - scheduled to take place in Geneva from 2nd to 4th June 2026 - has been cancelled following careful evaluation. The Association cited a lack of sufficient market momentum as the primary reason for the decision.
Reasons behind the cancellation
The cancellation reflects several converging factors:
Insufficient Industry Momentum: Despite extensive planning and engagement, the EBACE26 format did not generate the participation levels required to ensure a viable and impactful event.
Evolving Market Dynamics: Shifting industry trends, changing participation models, and a more competitive global events landscape have altered expectations among exhibitors, attendees, and partners.
Changing Stakeholder Expectations: Demands for greater value, flexibility, and relevance have required continuous adaptation in format, pricing, and positioning.
Resource Prioritisation: Cancelling the event allows EBAA to focus its efforts and resources on its core mission, ensuring stronger advocacy and support for its members.
Commitment to Transparency and Responsibility: The decision aims to minimise further impact on stakeholders who had already committed to the event.
Efforts to revitalise EBACE
In recent years, EBAA undertook significant initiatives to reshape EBACE in response to industry feedback. The 2025 edition introduced enhancements such as:

EBACE26 had planned the return of a full-scale static display.
For EBACE26, further innovations were planned, including the return of a reimagined static aircraft display, an enhanced focus on operators, an operator lounge, expanded networking opportunities, and a revised cost structure. Despite these efforts, the event did not secure the necessary support to proceed.
Stefan Benz, Chief Executive Officer of EBAA, acknowledged the difficulty of the decision: “This is a difficult decision, and one we have not taken lightly. We know it will cause disappointment for exhibitors, partners and participants who had committed to this year’s event and placed their trust in it. However, we believe this is the most responsible course of action.”
He added that cancelling the event reflects EBAA’s commitment to transparency while helping to minimise further disruption for stakeholders.
Juergen Wiese, EBAA Chairman, reaffirmed the Association’s long-term purpose: “EBAA was founded to serve Europe’s business aviation community, and that purpose remains unchanged. EBACE has historically been an important enabler in support of that mission, but the format must respond to what the market and our members genuinely need and value.”
Looking Ahead
At a time when business aviation faces political, regulatory, and reputational pressures, EBAA emphasised that its role remains critical. The Association will continue to advocate on behalf of its members, engage with European institutions and policymakers, and develop new platforms and initiatives that better align with industry needs.
While the cancellation of EBACE26 marks a significant shift, EBAA reiterated its commitment to ensuring that Europe’s business aviation sector retains a strong, credible, and unified voice in the years ahead.
