SR Technics opens new Swiss facility in Bad Zurzach

MRO service provider, SR Technics, has announced the start of operations at its facility in Bad Zurzach, further expanding the company’s engine maintenance footprint.

Beginning in January 2026, the site provides Quick Turn Services, including high-level engine inspections, repairs, modifications, and field assistance services worldwide for CFM56-5B/7B and PW4000 engines.

The new facility, named SR Technics Zurzach, has been established to support quick and efficient maintenance work, helping aircraft return to service as soon as possible.

All required approvals and certifications from aviation authorities, including the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA), have been obtained, allowing operations to begin as planned. The first engine induction at the new facility will be a CFM56-7B engine operated by Transavia Airlines, marking the operational launch of the site.

“The start of operations in Bad Zurzach, in close proximity to our two test cells in Zurich, reflects our commitment as a full-service provider to our customers,” said Owen McClave, CEO of SR Technics.

"With dedicated Quick Turn and Field Assistance Services, we can respond immediately to customer needs, while continuing to invest in people, capabilities, and infrastructure,” added Pierre Berthelot, General Manager of Zurzach.

Renovation of the facility began in January 2025, transforming an existing industrial building into a modern, purpose-designed engine maintenance environment. In parallel with the operational ramp-up, SR Technics plans to grow its workforce in Zurzach to around 100 employees, supporting both business growth and regional employment. SR Technics is further developing the Zurzach site to support its growth initiatives.
