Textron Aviation unveils “The Heart of Our Story” display at Career & Learning Center

A new, permanent art installation titled “The Heart of Our Story” has been unveiled at Textron's Career & Learning Center.

The piece was designed to honor the bold vision that has shaped the company’s journey - from founders to the team members who carry their innovative spirit forward today. The piece was designed and built entirely in-house, showcasing the team’s incredible vision, talent and versatility.

The artwork is a visual celebration of Textron Aviation’s mission to build the future of flight. It reflects the pride employees take in their work, the craftsmanship behind every aircraft and the strong sense of community that connects generations of aviation professionals.

"This installation is more than just art," said Matthew Harrell, industrial design supervisor and lead project designer, "it’s a tribute to the people who make Textron Aviation extraordinary. It’s a reminder that our legacy is built by individuals who imagine, create and soar to new heights together.

Design that tells the Textron Aviation story

Each element of the artwork was thoughtfully designed by the industrial design team to represent key moments and values in company history:

• Circular aluminum composite panels symbolize the precision and dedication of our employees, whose hands and minds bring aircraft to life

• The large red circle with a propeller serves as the focal point, representing the passion for aviation that drives innovation and propels careers forward

• Aircraft silhouettes reflect both the Beechcraft and Cessna brands, soaring toward a future full of possibility and excellence

• Red and blue sweeping arcs and contrails pay tribute to founders Clyde Cessna and Walter and Olive Ann Beech, whose shared journey began in the 1920s and laid the foundation for industry leadership

• The engine nacelle marks the culmination of the story, showcasing the technical prowess and collaborative achievements that allow Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft to dominate the skies.

“The Heart of Our Story” also serves as an invitation to future talent. It reflects Textron's commitment to propelling careers and offering opportunities to be part of a legendary team building legendary products. Thanks to Textron Aviation team members Wesley Johnson, Matt Harrell, Curtis Vonfeldt, Davy Russell, Jason Furr and Cody Harryman for their creativity and craftsmanship in creating the artwork.
