Current Events Analysis
PGA Championship boosts Atlanta traffic
The PGA FedEx Cup final at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta concluded Week 34, drawing significant business aviation activity to the city. Atlanta's airports recorded 607 business jet departures during the August 20-24 tournament period, compared to typical four-day activity of just over 500 flights during non-event periods in 2025. This represents more than 100 additional movements, demonstrating how premier golf tournaments continue to generate measurable increases in business jet demand.
The tournament marks the conclusion of the PGA Tour's season and consistently attracts high-net-worth spectators who rely on private aviation.
Managing Director Richard Koe comments: "The third quarter of 2025 looks to be trending towards 4%, the strongest quarter so far this year, confirming the consistent strength in bizjet flight demand since November last year.
"There are no evident dents in demand from tariffs, and the leisure market looks robust, notably to high-end resorts in Italy’s end-ofsummer season. Brazil, recently hosting LABACE, is lending most of the growth the stand-out increase in YOY traffic in South America.”
