Luxaviation secures EASA first direct approval of Electronic Tech Log for business aviation

Luxaviation Group has announced a key milestone in its digital transformation journey, with the successful approval of its Electronic Technical Log (ETL) system by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The certification, achieved through Luxaviation Portugal, marks the first instance of such approval granted to a business aviation operator under EASA’s direct oversight.

This achievement positions Luxaviation as the only single business aviation EASA AOCapproved Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) in Europe under direct EASA oversight, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to unified compliance and operational excellence across Europe.

Patrick Hansen, CEO of Luxaviation Group, comments: “The EASA approval of our Electronic Technical Log system marks a significant step in modernising our aircraft technical logs and advancing our digitalisation efforts. We are committed to driving efficiency, precision, and safety in aviation operations, and this transition plays a crucial role in achieving those goals.”

The approved system is based on the Converge ETL platform, developed by NVable, a longstanding partner of Luxaviation. Specifically designed for business aviation, the ETL integrates seamlessly with maintenance planning and operational systems, delivering improvements of up to 50% in touch time efficiency and an 80% reduction in documentation errors and rework.

Cameron Hood, CEO of NVable, adds: “We’re proud to support Luxaviation in achieving this important milestone. Our approach has always been to work closely with operators to ensure digital tools fit naturally into their workflows, and this collaboration is a strong example of that.

And while Converge is already in use under EASA Regulatory Environment, this approval marks the first for a business aviation Operator and having EASA as the Competent Authority, representing a meaningful step for a wider adoption of digital processes across the sector.”

With oversight across more than 40 aircraft types, from light jets to wide-body aircraft, Luxaviation CAMO teams bring deep operational expertise and regulatory knowledge, including advanced approvals such as Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards (ETOPS) and CAT II/III. With a centralised CAMO platform, the Group provides high-standard compliance oversight for both commercial and VIP aircraft.

Luxaviation, through its CAMO services, supports aircraft owners and operators by planning, tracking, and recording scheduled maintenance requirements. This capability is vital to ensuring continued airworthiness, meeting complex regulatory and compliance obligations, and protecting asset value.
