CHAS children soar the skies with Superheroes and Fairytale Favourites thanks to Loganair

Children with life-shortening conditions from across Scotland and their families have been given a once-in-a-lifetime flying experience at Glasgow Airport, courtesy of the UK’s leading regional airline, Loganair, and children’s palliative care charity, Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

Seven children supported by CHAS, joined by six of their siblings, were treated to a magical sightseeing round trip along Scotland’s west coast, made even more special by the surprise arrival of beloved characters from fairy tales and comic books.

Thanks to Loganair’s partnership with Glasgow-based party and event specialists Wish Upon a Star Kingdom, this year’s CHAS families were joined by Snow White, Rapunzel, Spider-Man and Batman, who brought smiles and laughter while helping the children and their families to make unforgettable memories.

Among the excited flyers was Jameson Kinloch, 5, from Lanarkshire, who is fascinated by all things aviation and dreams of becoming a pilot when he grows up. Jameson lives with short bowel syndrome (SBS) and has been supported by CHAS through Robin House children’s hospice in Balloch for the past two years. With his birthday just a week away, the CHAS flight was the perfect early celebration, made even more memorable by the chance to visit the flight deck and meet the captain.

He has wanted to be a pilot ever since they had a career day at his school, so he was very excited to be able to meet the pilot and the co-pilot, who both went out of their way to make him feel very special.

“Thank you so much to Loganair and CHAS for organising this amazing experience and helping us make such wonderful memories together as a family - we all absolutely loved it.”

The special day is part of Loganair’s ongoing support for CHAS, a partnership now in its fourth year. In 2024, the airline introduced a voluntary £2 donation option to online bookings to raise additional funds for the charity.

Loganair also supports the charity's outreach service CHAS at Home, which has made 1,951 visits in the past year, by providing vital flights for nurses supporting families in remote and island communities."

Since June 2024, Loganair customers have raised over £27,000 for the charity via its website.

The CHAS flight is made possible thanks to the ongoing efforts of its official charity partner, Loganair and its network of support from local Glasgow businesses, including Glasgow Airport, Wish Upon a Star Kingdom, Menzies Aviation and OCS.
