Kailua-Kona, HawaiiSeven months after grand opening, Big Island Jet Center celebrates one million gallons of fuel sold |
Big Island Jet Center has announced a major milestone in its operations as it sold its one millionth gallon of fuel this July.
The impressive achievement comes within a mere seven months of the FBO’s grand opening and before the completion of its permanent terminal, slated to be finished in Q32025.
“We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment, especially in such a short amount of time,” said Tom Owen, general manager of Big Island Jet Center. “Our temporary facility has been incredibly well-received, and we are excited about what the future will bring. The BIJC team is honored to serve its community and is humbled by the opportunity to continue fueling guests’ adventures each day.”
Hawaii’s newest premier FBO, located at Kailua-Kona’s Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (PHKO), celebrated its grand opening in December 2023 as a start-up on the field, first welcoming passengers just in time for the busy holiday season. As the only independent FBO with exclusive parking, BIJC is currently booking its last few parking opportunities for the 2024 holiday season.
Big Island Jet Center’s early success is a testament to the services, amenities and customer care it offers, which will continue to grow with the highly-anticipated opening of its modern, sophisticated terminal.
To enhance its focus on a resort-style customer experience, Big Island Jet Center’s new terminal will provide a Pacific oasis showcasing a true “Aloha Spirit” while providing cutting-edge amenities and services, including luxurious waiting areas, well-appointed restrooms and available-to-rent office space.
In the meantime, the FBO operates out of its tranquil temporary terminal, boasting more than nine acres of parking space and planeside vehicle access; a 50,000-gallon jet fuel storage facility; indoor and outdoor passenger seating; a pristine lobby and luxury accommodations; and full services, including ground handling, towing, USDA inspections and catering.
In the spirit of ohana, Big Island Jet Center’s partnership with Avfuel Corporation - the leading independent supplier of aviation fuel and services - remains strong. As an Avfuel-branded FBO, Big Island Jet Center offers competitive rates with Avfuel Contract Fuel, streamlined processing with the Avfuel Pro Card and lucrative rewards with AVTRIP.
