Lakeland, FloridaSheltair and Avfuel present generous check to ACE from record-breaking SUN 'n FUN |
Sheltair, the official fuel provider for the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, along with Avfuel, celebrated their impactful partnership by presenting a generous check for over $15,700 to the Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE).
This substantial donation, a result of fuel sales during the 50th anniversary of SUN 'n FUN, reflects the companies' commitment to giving back to the aviation community and supporting educational initiatives.
SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo celebrated its 50th Fly-In with an epic six-day showcase in April, drawing aviation enthusiasts and professionals from around the world. During the expo, Sheltair LAL saw record-breaking numbers pumping over 150,000 gallons of fuel and servicing approximately 1,100 aircraft, no small feat for the highly dedicated team under new General Manager Zach McDonald.
“Sheltair has enjoyed our longstanding partnership with SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo and the Aerospace Center for Excellence,” said Zach McDonald. “This year was our first year of expanding our donation window and promoting additional locations, setting a precedent for years to come. The Aerospace Center for Excellence’s mission to engage, educate, and accelerate the next generation of aerospace professionals is important to Sheltair, as it fuels the growth and development of the next generation of aviation professionals in an industry that faces continuous labor shortages. We are excited to continue to serve the community through one of the most prestigious air shows and fly-ins in the country.”
Since the Aerospace Center for Excellence opened in 2014, SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo’s proceeds have supported the non-profit aerospace organization to educate and inspire the next generation of aviators. Sheltair’s substantial donation reflects its dedication to supporting organizations that foster educational initiatives and promote the advancement of aviation. The contribution will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on ACE's programs and initiatives.
“For the last several years, Sheltair and Avfuel have partnered with the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo to give back $0.10 cents from every gallon of fuel pumped at LAL during the fly-in, and this year they expanded our partnership to include their outlying FBO’s,” said Gene Conrad, President and CEO of the Aerospace Center for Excellence. “We are grateful for this fantastic partnership, as the funds received today go right back into our year-round aviation educational programming for youth at the Aerospace Center for Excellence.”
Sheltair's commitment to giving back to the aviation community and supporting educational initiatives demonstrates the company's dedication to making a positive impact within the aviation industry and the communities it serves.
