Luxaviation group releases 2023 Sustainability Report, reaffirming commitment to sustainable aviation

Luxaviation Group has unveiled its annual 2023 Sustainability Report. The comprehensive report reflects on Luxaviation’s impact and progress on material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics, showcasing proactive measures in environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility within the aviation industry.

Luxaviation has been at the forefront of sustainable aviation initiatives, with a firm commitment to understanding and reducing its global carbon footprint. Through expanding greenhouse gas emissions reporting boundaries, coupled with strategic investments in advanced technologies and the integration of next-generation aircraft, the company is making progressive steps towards reductions in fuel consumption and GHG emissions arising from across its multifaceted operations.

the electrification of our ground vehicles have set new industry benchmarks for eco-friendly practices. These initiatives are part of our broader goal to transparently lead the industry towards a more responsible future.”

Electrification of FBO Ground Handling Equipment (GHE)

In a major move towards reducing ground emissions, Luxaviation has initiated the electrification of its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) Ground Handling Equipment (GHE). This transition to electric GHE significantly minimizes environmental impact and enhances operational efficiency, aligning with the company’s broader sustainability objectives. ExecuJet, part of the Luxaviation Group, has, at present, achieved 57% towards its target of GHE electrification by 2030 with its FBO in Paris Le Bourget, the latest to achieve 100% GHE electrification. These efforts have been reinforced by an interim target to achieve 65% GHE across all ExecuJet FBOs by 2027.

Energy efficiency and waste management

By optimizing energy use and embracing innovation, Luxaviation continues to integrate best practices for more environmental and socially responsible operations. Rigorous waste reduction strategies further underscore the company's commitment to sustainability, notably aiming to reduce single-use plastic bottles and cans across all ExecuJet FBOs by 60% by 2025, with complete elimination targeted by 2026.

Community and employee engagement

In addition to its environmental initiatives, Luxaviation places a strong emphasis on social responsibility through robust community and employee engagement programs. The company supports local communities with various initiatives, while also promoting diversity and inclusion
within its workforce.

Collaborative efforts and future plans

Luxaviation’s sustainability strategy is reinforced by its multi-stakeholder engagement programme and collaborations with industry stakeholders, including aircraft manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and environmental organizations. As such, Luxaviation is excited about its new partnership with EcoVadis, the leading provider in business sustainability ratings. This collaboration underscores Luxaviation's dedication to transparency and accountability, driving improvement and positive impact across its supply chains. Further partnerships include Azzera, an innovative provider of sustainability solutions for aviation, and Nordic EVTOL Networks, the leading vertiport developer in Scandinavia.

The 2023 Sustainability Report, outlines ongoing initiatives and future plans, shaped by embedding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) at its core. The exploration of electric and hybrid propulsion systems and continued investments in sustainable technologies pave a positive trajectory of growth. Luxaviation has set a target to decarbonize operations by 2030 and is committed to achieving the industry’s target of netzero emissions by 2050.
