Tampa, FloridaSheltair enhances comfort and convenience at Tampa Bay FBOs |
Sheltair Aviation’s award-winning FBOs at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (KPIE) and Tampa International Airport (KTPA) are undergoing renovations to enhance the customer experience, and update the facilities’ look and feel.
At PIE, renovations focused on the two-story atrium lobby with its central staircase leading to the second-floor offices, including a refurnished conference room. On the ground level, the pilot lounge also boasts new furnishings, while space modifications allowed for flight planning room improvements, the addition of a customer service manager’s office adjacent to reception, and a prominent coffee station to better serve guests.

Extensive upgrades are ongoing at Sheltair’s FBO at TPA following the completion of its $26m hangar complex. Floorplan modifications include expanding the entry lobby to increase guest seating by relocating flight planning services to the pilot’s lounge; relocating its smaller conference room to increase seating capacity; and adding a new customer service desk, back-counter check-in area and designated mail room.

Aesthetic modifications include new wallcoverings, tile flooring with a natural-wood look, new carpet by the lobby airside window and second-floor office corridors, updated lobby seating, and the addition of an advertising banner LED screen above the airside vestibule.
Sheltair’s total investment in the Tampa-area renovations is an estimated $2.05m.
“We value all our customers and always want them to feel comfortable about flying into a Sheltair FBO,” said Lisa Holland, Sheltair’s CEO and President. “That’s why we’re continuously investing in our facilities to better serve our guests as a premier gateway to the markets that Sheltair serves.”
Featuring convenient locations to fly into sought-after destinations, Sheltair TPA and PIE offer easy access to primary roads in their respective areas. Both FBOs provide on-site rental cars, crew cars and US Customs clearance to get guests on their way.
