Tampa Bay, Florida Sheltair president and CEO honored with Tampa Bay Business Women Award |
Sheltair Aviation celebrates as its president and CEO, Lisa Holland, was recognized with a 2023 Tampa Bay Business Women Award in the transportation and aviation category.
Presented by Tampa Bay Business & Wealth magazine, Holland accepted the award in front of 500 guests during the 2023 Tampa Bay Business Women Awards on April 21 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
“A huge sense of gratitude to Bridgette Bello, Jason Baker, and the entire TBBW for hosting an amazing evening and establishing an incredible awards program that recognizes businesswomen in the Tampa Bay area,” expressed Lisa Holland. “I feel privileged to be nominated and share a room with inspirational, determined, like-minded women.”

Holland was one of 50 Tampa Bay businesswomen honored, but just one of 17 to be named as a winner in their field. Honorees were chosen by a panel of judges, including: Ed Ellsasser, CEO at PrimeGroup Insurance; Robert Hessel, CEO at Source1 Solutions; Pam Iorio, former Mayor of Tampa and CEO at Big Brothers Big Sisters America; and Danny Persaud, CEO at MidFlorida Armored.
Holland was praised for how she led Sheltair through the COVID-19 pandemic, turning challenges into opportunities by cultivating her team and nurturing a support system for her employees. The organization also spoke to how Holland values professional development, evolution and growth, looking to others for inspiration.
“I have met many exceptional business leaders over the past few years who gave me advice and helped me develop,” said Holland. “I have also had the opportunity to work with an executive coach early in my career, making me uncomfortable and working hard at doing things I did not want to do. I continue to grow as a leader by remaining curious and open to constructive criticism.”
In January 2020, Holland succeeded her father, Jerry Holland, as president of Sheltair Aviation - the nation’s largest privately-owned aviation network, proudly operating award-winning FBOs and managing more than 4.5 million square feet of aviation-related properties. In her leadership role, Holland brings a fresh perspective to the family business while sustaining her father’s vision. Growing the company, maintaining its values, and defining excellence across an expanding aviation market in an era of unprecedented challenges and extraordinary opportunities are all part of Holland’s emerging Sheltair legacy.
