StandardAero grows helicopter MRO offerings after integration of Signature Aviation ERO acquisition

StandardAero acquired Signature Aviation’s Engine Repair (ERO) and Overhaul business last year, growing the combined companies’ significant helicopter MRO capabilities to better serve customers with expanded offerings.

The addition of ERO immediately expanded StandardAero’s existing capabilities for providing MRO services for M250, RR300, PT6T, T700 and CT7 helicopter engines and added new OEM licenses for CTS800 engines and PW200 engines as new platforms to its MRO portfolio, while also expanding parts distribution channels and mobile field services for customers worldwide.

The acquisition also included ERO’s helicopter MRO facilities in Dallas, Portsmouth UK and Broomfield Colorado, providing StandardAero with increased capacity for engine MRO, accessories and component piece part repairs.

“Our combined team of highly skilled helicopter technicians and experienced aerospace professionals has quickly integrated and we are completely aligned to raise the standard for helicopter MRO services to better serve our customers around the world,” said Peter Wheatley, Vice President & General Manager of StandardAero’s Helicopters business unit.

StandardAero’s helicopters team foresees a multitude of benefits for current and future customers including enhanced operational efficiency, better turn times, expanded engineering expertise, expanded global and field service presence and more global aftermarket support network and services.

In addition to helicopter engine services, StandardAero also provides MRO services for airframes and dynamic components on a wide range of aircraft. The company has airframe authorizations with Airbus, Sikorsky, Boeing and Leonardo. Airframe platforms that served include Bell 204/205, 206, 212/412, 214, 222, 230, 407, 427, and 430 series, Airbus AS 332, 350 and 355 series, Airbus AS 120B, 130 and 135 series, Sikorsky S58T, S61, and S76 series, Chinook, Sea King, Lynx and Gazelle. StandardAero Airframe services include inspection, avionics, mechanical and hydraulic components, structural assemblies, testing and repair services, paint and alterations.

StandardAero is one of the largest and most diverse Aerospace MRO companies in the world with 110 years of continuous operation. With the acquisition of Signature Aviation, ERO StandardAero totals nearly 6,600 employees strong across more than 50 locations, on six continents and approaching $4 billion of annual revenue.
