As Vertis Aviation continues to mark a decade in business this month's Top Ten for Ten lists the team’s favourite fast and bold top marque vehicles. These ultra-luxe automobiles deliver speed, style, and sheer joy, and more-often-than-not express many aeronautical characteristics.

1. Porsch 911 Turbo S
The Porsche 911 Turbo S leads this top marque portfolio. With a contemporary, sporty design and 8-speed double-clutch transmission, delivering impeccably fast gear changing, it is a driver’s dream. A fact not lost on Embraer who paired with the German manufacturer to offer a limited – just ten – duo pairing the iconic car with the Embraer Phenom 300. Porsche is also renowned for manufacturing the fastest car in the world, the 919 Hybrid (Mk II) at an exhilarating 0 to 100 km/h in only 1.9 seconds.
2. McLaren Speedtail
McLaren’s powerful Speedtail blends aerodynamics with breathtaking form to deliver the fastest McLaren to date. The impressive hybrid e-motor sportscar charges while driving and includes a wireless charge pad. Crossing the barrier from road to racetrack McLaren teams with FAI Aviation Group, the private jet charter operator, to reach each F1 race in equal style.
3. Mercedes Maybach Exelero
The Maybach Exelero was crafted for testing high-speed tyres exceeding 350 km/h, with racing driver Klaus Ludwig attaining 351.45 km/h, a world record for limousine-type vehicles. Mercedes is equally dedicated to developing sustainable eco-friendly cars and currently leads the FIA Formula E series. Recognising the high-performance, luxury and comfort offered by Mercedes, Airbus Helicopters H145 Mercedes-Benz Style helicopter emulated the elegance of the German manufacturer’s interiors.
4. Bugatti Veyron
Boasting 1,001 horsepower, the Bugatti Veyron is one of the fastest cars in the world, recording 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Although impressively massive at 4,200 pounds, this supercar achieved a top speed of 407 km/h. In 2014, Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond raced the Euro Fighter Typhoon jet in a two-mile drag race. Though the Veyron finished second, it was only a matter of seconds that set it apart from the incredible fighter jet.
5. Lexus LC Aviation
Building on its existing, highly popular LC 500 model, Lexus launched the singular, aviation-inspired LC Aviation, easily distinguished by its rear spoiler. The exclusive model has only 70 units released in Japan and was designed in part with acrobatic pilot Yoshihide Muroya. The supercar sports a carbon fibre spoiler inspired by an aircraft wing, aviation-style aeronautics, and a flight-deck inspired dashboard.
6. Rolls Royce Wraith
Rolls Royce is famed for their luxurious cars dating back to 1904, with our personal favourite being the Rolls Royce Wraith, the fastest Rolls Royce ever manufactured, with a top speed of 250 km/h. The beautiful, mostly handmade car boasts bespoke luxury with its lavish leather seats, sophisticated features, and a sporty, yet grand exterior. Rolls Royce later began ventures into the aircraft and aerospace engine manufacturing, providing over 16,000 military engines to 103 countries.
7. Lamborghini 250 Huracán Avio
The ultra-high-performance car manufacturer Lamborghini launched the Huracán Avio, at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Designed as a tribute to the bravery of the Air Force, and with just 250 cars manufactured, the Huracán Avio blends the comfort of a business aircraft cabin with a sleek exterior façade.
8. Ferrari 812 Superfast
Speed and power are no concern for the 12-cylinder engine found in the fastest Ferrari ever built, the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Ferrari pushed the boundaries with augmented aerodynamics to deliver a top speed of 340 km/h and 789 horsepower for the streetcar. Appreciating this continued drive for success, VistaJet partnered with the famous Scuderia Ferrari racing team to be the sole supplier for its private aviation requirements.
9. Aston Martin DBS V12
An auto-icon that requires little introduction the Aston Martin DBS V12 featured in the James Bond film Casino Royale, where three identical models were flipped and destroyed while shooting for a high-speed chase scene. The engine found in the DBS V12 is a similar version of those installed in the top-marque’s racing cars. Aston Martin recently announced a design collaboration with Bombardier to create elegant, spy-pleasing cabin interiors.
10. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Speaking of James Bond, Ian Fleming, the author of the 14 James Bond novels, is also famed for the creation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: The Magical Car, a children’s novel about a flying car. While flying cars are not yet our reality, this progressive thinking may very well be the inspiration to drive this technology forward!
