Women in Corporate Aviation 2010 WCA/NBAA scholarship winners

Women in Corporate Aviation, International announced eight scholarship winners at NBAA 2010 on Wednesday 20th October

The recipients are:.

Natasha Flaherty of the San Francisco Bay Area will use her WCA Career Scholarship to apply towards her Commercial Pilot Certificate.

Susan Van Matre will apply her WCA Aviation Management Scholarship, kindly sponsored by Home Depot and Elevon Consulting, to a Flight Safety Operational Training Course in her hometown of St. Louis, MO.

Marie Wicks of Baltimore, Maryland plans to use The Susan Friedenberg Corporate Flight Attendant Scholarship to push forward her desire to become a professional corporate Flight Attendant.

Anita Lachhiramani, Annie Marie Radel, Andrew “Dru” Nicholson and Melody Tharp will all be awarded scholarships to the Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. FAA Dispatcher License Training and Certification Course. The backgrounds, desire and overall qualifications of all four applicants led Universal to this decision. “With what has gone on with the recent economy, how it has affected our industry and the level of these candidates, awarding these scholarships is just the right thing to do,”  said Kevin Tipton, VP Worldwide Marketing & Communications, Universal.

Stacey Kotrla will be able to complete the Human Factors in Aviation Safety course with the USC Aviation Safety and Security Scholarship and help her flight department become ISBAO and SMS compliant.
