Air Culinaire plans new in-flight catering facility in Paris

Air Culinaire Worldwide has announced plans to begin construction of a new in-flight catering facility located at Paris-Le Bourget Airport (ICAO).

The new 800-square-metre facility (slated to open in January 2016), will be CE-Certified - the highest level of certification obtainable in the European market. It will be located near the main entrance of Le Bourget, and will provide quick and easy access to all airport FBOs in order to facilitate clients’ last-minute orders.

“This new kitchen represents our dedication to the Paris market,” said Paul Schweitzer, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, Air Culinaire Worldwide. “Having a larger footprint will enable our team to better serve our existing clients, and increase capacity to accommodate the growing demand for in-flight catering in Paris. The new facility will also allow us to add additional value to our clients such as hosting training classes for corporate flight crews.”

Training courses for flight crews hosted in facility will cover a wide range of topics, including food safety, plating and presentation, and culinary trends.

Alongside the company’s customer service centre, the facility will feature a new, state-of-the-art kitchen and will be three times larger than the current facility.

The kitchen alone will be 10 times the size of the existing kitchen. Herve Bourdon, Executive Chef, Air Culinaire Worldwide Paris, has worked closely with architects on developing the layout and design of the facility, as well as the selection of equipment.

“We will now have every tool at our disposal to provide phenomenal cuisine to the growing business aviation market in Paris,” said Bourdon.

“We only use organic meat, and ethically-sourced, non-GMO ingredients. This new facility will provide the space we need to accommodate equipment featuring the latest advances in culinary technology.”
