Satcom Direct’s FlightDeck Freedom datalink service now enables Future Air Navigation System (FANS) testing
Satcom Direct’s FlightDeck Freedom datalink service integrates extensive features and functionality for flight departments, including clearances, airport weather, trip planning and monitoring onboard connectivity status.

Now, this powerful tool enables FANS testing to troubleshoot or validate FANS capabilities and crew procedures - from any location, anytime. Satcom Direct developed these testing capabilities to support the implementation and use of FANS for both operators and OEMs. Access to the FANS testing facility is offered at no additional charge as part of the FlightDeck Freedom subscription.

“Use of the Future Air Navigation System has become mandatory in some regions and improves the efficiency of all airspace users, including business aviation operators. We are pleased to provide this value-added service to support the mandate and as part of our commitment to deliver the ultimate user experience,” said Jim Jensen, Satcom Direct founder and CEO.

The simulated ATS test facility is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. FANS functionality can be tested for validation or troubleshooting purposes via the VHF, Inmarsat or Iridium networks. Users conduct the testing at their convenience, regardless of their location.
