Signature signs agreement with Princess Juliana Intl. for new terminal
Signature Flight Support has signed an agreement with Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) to extend its concessions and will lease part of the premises of the new General Aviation Terminal and Signature Flight Support passenger terminal.

Construction of the General Aviation Terminal is expected to be completed in 2016.

The new terminal will be a contemporary design featuring streamlined passenger transit. Signature will offer full passenger handling, customs and immigration coordination, VIP and concierge services, aircraft to yacht transfers as well as aircraft fueling, weather and routing advisory services.

Regina LaBega and Maria Sastre execute the agreement

Maria Sastre, President and COO for Signature Flight Support commented, “Signature’s acquisition of Arrindell Aviation Services in 2011 was our first location in the Caribbean. Since then, we have added San Juan, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua and recently, Turks and Caicos, as a licensee, to our Caribbean network. We value our excellent working relationship with Princess Juliana International Airport and its management. This agreement represents a perfect example of cooperation between an airport and a flight support services provider to bring economic development and new infrastructure to the community. It also underscores the importance of general aviation to the Caribbean’s economy.”

According to Regina LaBega, SXM Airport managing director, this agreement would make Signature the first General Aviation company to sign on as a tenant and concessionaire at the ultra-modern new FBO facility which SXM Airport is building as part of its Capital Improvement Program.

“It is a clear vote of confidence on the part of Signature as well as an indication of the high level of our relationship,” LaBega said, adding: “It is a relationship we are very proud of.”

St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport offers convenient access to high-end resort destinations, marinas and world-class shopping. SXM serves as a hub for air carriers and cargo operations to surrounding islands such as St. Barths, St. Kitts, Nevis, Saba, St. Eustatius and Anguilla. It is also the second busiest airport in the Northeastern Caribbean.
