Gama
Aviation opens new Sharjah FBO for executive aircraft handling
Global
business aviation and services company, Gama Aviation, has taken
responsibility for all business aircraft handling at Sharjah
International Airport with the creation of a brand new FBO.
The
news ratifies a committed and ongoing relationship with Sharjah
Department of Civil Aviation with the aim of encouraging and
facilitating business aviation growth. Gama Aviation is
providing a dedicated team 24/7, 365 days a year, to manage
business aviation traffic, in a move that will see the company
expand into FBO management for the first time in the Middle East
and North Africa region.
Gama
has been operating at Sharjah since 2004 and during that time
has built up a strong business development relationship with the
Sharjah International Airport management team. Sharjah, the
oldest airport in the Emirates, can trace its heritage back to
1932, but the existing airport was built in the 1970s.
Throughout all of this, Sharjah’s efficiency and ease of use
has been prominent, which means that the average landing to
chocks on time is an enviable average of just six minutes. read

ExecuJet and Cambridge
Airport gear up for the Olympics
Having officially unveilled it's
impressive new FBO facility at Cambridge Airport on February 6th, ExecuJet Europe is eagerly
anticipating attracting a sizeable slice of the business aviation traffic expected during the 2012
Olympic Games.
"Cambridge Airport is an
excellent alternative destination for London-based traffic and especially for travellers to and
from the US - as the location lies directly on the flight path that avoids London’s busy airspace,”
said Cedric Migeon, Managing
Director, Execujet Europe.
Until now the company's only
presence in the UK had been a passenger lounge at London City Airport with little or no room for
expansion.
ExecuJet's new Cambridge FBO
however enjoys generous hangar space, state-of-the art executive passenger lounges, boardroom
facilities and dedicated crew facilities. The airport is located some 50 miles/1 hour north of
the Olympic Stadium in Stratford via a direct M11 Motorway route and is one of only five regional
airports with a 24-hour slot allocation during the Games.
The company is no stranger to international sporting events having handled more than 2,000 movements at its Johannesburg and Cape Town FBOs during the 2010 FIFA Football World Cup tournament in South Africa.

Samson Aviation Services has been handling aircraft at its purpose-built facility since 1993.
In June 2008, Samson was purchased by Newcastle International Airport (NIA), taking the business to the next level of aircraft handling within the
FBO sector, making use of the corporate skills and branding that NIA had to offer.
Samson operates independently
- it is an airport within an airport. It oversees all private jets flying in and out of Newcastle Airport and works alongside brokers, operators, airlines, and the clients themselves.

Weston
Aviation sets sights on further UK and European expansion in 2012
Weston
Aviation, the UK based Business Aviation and FBO development
specialist is taking the opportunity at Business Airports World Expo
(BAWE) in Cannes, France (February 22nd-23rd) to take its services to
Europe, with particular interest in France as a first European move.
As part of
its continued growth the company is also anticipating further UK FBO
additions and acquisitions in 2012, to add to its three own branded
existing locations of Durham Tees Valley, Newquay Cornwall and
Humberside Airports.
Weston
Aviation, launched in 1996, offers a unique and fresh approach to the
traditional operation of an FBO, by offering a one stop shop for all
business aviation and charter services with an emphasis on regional
sales generation for the use of business aviation at their airport
locations.
“The
move into Europe is our next logical step” points out Managing
Director, Nick
Weston. “We
have successfully grown and developed our Newquay Cornwall and Durham
Tees Valley Business Aviation Centres over the past eight years and we
are already seeing excellent results at our latest venture at
Humberside Airport since opening in May 2011. Traditional, reactive
FBO business models are now old and tired and unchanged for many
years.” read
